The Matrix

The most revolutionary film sci-fi film of the 1990s, "The Matrix" fulfilled expections for a blockbuster futuristic epic that year, making up for a somewhat underwhelming "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace." Directed and written by Andy Wachowski and Larry Wachowski, "The Matrix" follows the story of a computer hacker named Neo, whose quest for knowledge leads him down a rabbit hole he did not expect and onto a messianic quest to free humanity from a prison it does not know it is in. Starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving, Gloria Foster and Joe Pantoliano.
