A football club in the Scottish Premier League, Rangers F.C. is a Glasgow-based team long associated with the Protestant Unionist community of Scotland. Rangers have a fierce rivalry called the "Old Firm" with crosstown squad Celtic F.C. The rivalry has Protestant vs. Catholic overtones. Rangers was formed in 1872 and have won the Scottish league 51 times, first in 1891 and most recently in 2005.
