Rafael Nadal is a Spanish tennis player born June 3, 1986 in Manacor, Mallorca, where he lives now. In 2003, he became the second youngest player ever to reach the top 100 singles players in the world. In 2005, at 18 years and 10 months, he was the youngest player to break into the Top 10 since Andrei Medvedev on June 7, 1993.
At the ATP Masters Series event in Rome, at the beginning of May 2005, he reached his thirth Masters final of the year (Miami, Monte Carlo) by defeating fellow Spaniard David Ferrer. This victory was his 40th win of the year (an ATP best), of which 30 have come on clay.
