Be it the sweltering September heat that rises from the turf of Texas Stadium, the swirling winds of the Meadowlands, or the freezing conditions that besiege Lambeau Field, weather affects play on the NFL gridiron more than any stimulus outside of a uniform. As a result, experienced weathercaster Jillian Barberie joined the cast of FOX NFL SUNDAY at the start of the 2000 season and immediately demonstrated through her unique talents just how interesting the weather over Minnesota's Metrodome can be. Reporting meteorological developments in an entertaining fashion and taking time to lampoon her FOX NFL SUNDAY colleagues made Barberie an instant success on the set. Jillian was first known to fans on the West coast for providing the latest weather forecasts for FOX 11 Morning News and the Emmy award-winning Good Day LA morning show. As one of the finalists for the coveted co-hosting job of Live with Regis, Jillian made her way into mainstream America. She also files reports on FOX for "Style File," the weekly segment that spotlights the hottest and hippest trends in fashion. Good Day LA was lauded with the 1997 and 2000 Los Angeles area Emmy award for "Best Daytime Newscast" from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Jillian joined Good Day LA in June 1995 after two years as weather anchor on the weeknight editions of the Emmy winning Fox 11 News at 10. Jillian joined KTTV/FOX 11 in October 1993. Since joining KTTV/FOX 11, Jillian has provided live coverage of weather-related disasters in Southern California, including the 1998 El Nino storms. She provided live reports from around the Southland for Fox Overtime, KTTV's post-game show that followed the 1995 and 1996 NFL games. Jillian's talents beyond the weather map have earned her special appearances on several hit television series including a recurring role on the syndicated V.I.P. with Pamela Anderson, Beverly Hills, 90210, the series finale of Melrose Place and ABC's Clueless, to name a few. In February 2002, Barberie joined the cast of The Vagina Monologues in L.A. for two and a half weeks. Part of the proceeds for these shows were donated to the V-Day Fund that is helping to end violence against women. Jillian joined KTTV/FOX 11 from WSVN, the Fox station in Miami, Fla., where she had worked since February 1992 as the weeknight weathercaster on their 5, 6 and 10 PM newscasts. During 1992's devastating Hurricane Andrew, she provided live reports on the disaster for 48 hours straight. While there, Jillian also reported the weekly segments "7 Freestyle," about sports and entertainment, and "Express Yourself," concerning topical issues. Jillian graduated from Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) with a broadcast journalism degree.
