Lady luck on his side?
A natural in front of the camera, James has fronted Hot wired for Channel 4 and was a guest presenter on Shake for Five. He has presented Winning lines with Phillip Schofield, Wright around the world with Ian Wright, In it to win it with Dale Winton and most recently joined Mark Durden-Smith on Millionaire Manor.
James career started at just the age of 12 when he hosted a childrens radio show at his local hospital. Five years later he landed his first real presenting job on BBC Radio Sheffield and following a two year stint working on a weekend youth show, he left the station to pursue a singing career with his own band, In 2 Deep. Two years on the road, and one top 40 hit later, James decided that it was time to turn his attention back to TV, and, via a number of other career highs, bagged himself the primetime slot on The National Lottery. Now theres luck for you!
James of all trades?
From hospital radio to singing in a band to musicals, theatre and TV, James has always prided himself on being able to turn his talent to the job in hand. Now in his 30s hes pleased to have moved away from childrens TV, instead leaving that in the capable hands of his brother Richard McCourt (CBBC1), and is looking forward to branching out to a daytime audience as well as primetime entertainment shows.
