One of the earliest franchises in the NFL, the team moved to Detroit in 1934 and became the Lions. While they have not won a Super Bowl, the Lions won NFL championships in 1935, 1952, 1953 and 1957. Hall Of Famers such as Earl "Dutch" Clark, Bill Dudley, Bobby Layne, Alex Wojciechowicz, Jack Christiansen, Joe Schmidt, Dick "Night Train" Lane, Yale Lary, Doak Walker, Lem Barney, Lou Creekmur and Barry Sanders have worn the silver and blue. While the team has not been successful since Barry Sanders' abrupt retirement, things are looking up with young stars Roy Williams, Joey Harrington and Charles Rogers growing more experienced.
