Danity Kane is an American girl group signed to Bad Boy Records. Formed on the television reality show Making the Band 3, in it's third installment of the Making The Band series. Sean "Diddy" Combs set out to create an all girl supergroup. Danity Kane consists of Aubrey Morgan O'Day, D. Woods, Shannon Rae Bex, Dawn Angelique Richard, and Aundrea Aurora Fimbres. The group's first single is "Show Stopper". The music video for "Show Stopper" debuted on August 4, 2006 on Making the Video. The group's self-titled debut album was released on August 22, 2006. Producers on the album include Timbaland, Scott Storch, Jim Jonsin, Bryan Michael Cox, Rodney Jerkins, Rami, Mario Winans and Ryan Leslie.

Their debut album sold over 90,000 copies in the first day of release. And over 234,000 in the first week of release. Prompted by the news of this unexpected demand for their CD, Danity Kane did a last minute promo blitz with their mentor Diddy and visited TRL and 106 and Park urging fans to help make them number one and buy their CD. The tactic worked, as Danity Kane debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, knocking veteran Christina Aguilera from the top spot and out-selling hip-hop supergroup OutKast.

Bad Boy Records report that the new single would possibly be "One Shot" or "Ride for You." They had a fan poll going around through e-mails, MySpace, and their official web-site, asking fans whats their favorite song off the album in hopes it'll guide them to a second single. "Ride for You" proved successful again and is now being helmed as the 2nd official single. During an exclusive interview with Singersroom, before the sessions were over, the girls were asked to give a preview of their next single, and the girls crooned to "Ride for You".
