An American boxer in the light-heavyweight class, Antonio Tarver first won the championship in 2003, defeating Montell Griffin. Later that year he would lose the title to
Roy Jones, Jr., only to win the belt back from Jones in 2004. Tarver would go on to lose and win back the title again in the next year. Tarver gained additional fame when he won the role of boxer Mason Dixon in the sixth "Rocky" film, "Rocky Balboa."
